Starting a fresh new studio, we felt it was imperative to establish and engrain our values within 10:10’s foundation. We believe that our people are our best asset, therefore, we wanted to ensure we provided a culture where our team felt empowered and could see career longevity within the studio.
Our Culture
Work Life Balance
As amazing as having a career in games can be, we encourage everyone to have a life outside of work. One of our first priorities was to set up hybrid working and have an anti crunch culture.
We wanted to drive away from the historic industry standard of crunch and allow our team to have a healthy work life balance. We have now successfully developed and submitted our first game, Funko Fusion, with no crunch and proved -hopefully to other studios too - that it is entirely possible.
Learning and Development
We want our team to have a long and prosperous career here at 10:10. Very early into establishing the studio, we created our Learning and Development Initiative with the aim of creating a pathway for everyone to work towards their ultimate career goal.
Whether that is reaching their first promotion, aspiring to become a Lead or trialling a different department. We work with each individual through quarterly or biannual Development Reviews to establish their wants, needs and how their manager can plan their progression.
We are proud that we offer internal promotions, from Intern level all the way through to Director level, so everyone, no matter what level they join us at, should feel they can achieve their ambitions.
Entry Level Roles
We realise how challenging it can be for aspiring developers from any walk of life to enter the games industry. We understand our position and that we personally have the ability to help break down these barriers. We therefore offer true and genuine entry level roles within every department or area of interest - from Animation to IT. These are open to anyone of any background, whether a recent graduate, someone who learned how to code in their bedroom or someone that would like to change their career later in life.
We are excited to bring in the next generation of Juniors for our future projects because we have seen first-hand the benefits they bring to the team - not only do we inject the industry with new talent, but it also allows us to cross learn, by letting the Juniors teach our Seniors new technologies, theories and opinions.
Collective Feedback
As for everyone, setting up a brand new studio was a very busy time for us. Our collective goal was, and still is, to have a great studio where our team feel valued. From growing from 20 people to just under 100 team members in three years, we know things change over time and original initiatives can start to show some cracks. We therefore want to make improvements when and where we can, to continuously evolve.
We open ourselves up to feedback directly from our team to highlight any potential areas that need addressing. We do this via anonymous surveys alongside team feedback sessions, where every team can collectively sit with their Head of Department, our Head of Publishing, Studio Director and HR, to relay any questions, concerns or feedback they may have.
